I started colouring my hair at 18.
I’m 40 now — that’s 22 years of colour, heat styling, and zero “hair break” phases.

This is the hair oiling routine I swear by — and it’s the reason I’ve been able to colour + heat style without destroying my hair.

✨ My exact hair oiling routine ✨

1️⃣ Warm your oil slightly
Not hot — just warm enough to improve absorption and scalp circulation.

2️⃣ Oil clean hair, not dirty hair
I never oil hair that’s been sitting unwashed for 4–5 days. Clean scalp = better penetration.

3️⃣ Steam once a week
After oiling, let it sit for about 1 hour, then steam your hair for 10 minutes.
This step alone changes everything for dryness + breakage.

4️⃣ Don’t aggressively wash oil out
Two gentle washes with a mild shampoo are more than enough. Over-washing defeats the purpose.

5️⃣ Invest in good-quality oils
This is one step where quality truly matters.

• Kama Ayurveda Bhringadi Oil — avoid if you’re sensitive to fragrance
• Inde Wild — excellent for the scalp; go light on lengths or it gets heavy

You don’t need to stop colouring or heat styling.
You just need a routine that respects your hair biology.
